I just read Orkes Manohara's blog to learn more about the women of Gerwani. Such oppression and violence! For so many of us in the U.S., we will never have an inkling as to what that must have been like. In their strength, these women have found a way to bring beauty through music into their daily (often horrific) existence. Listen with me here:
